Autumn Term 2007

 

English:          

 

Consolidating alphabet; consonants and vowels. Revise  known blends and introduce extension blends, beginning      blends and end blends. Poetry and rhyme.  Spellings. Grammar - revise sentence structure: capital letters, full   stops, finger spaces. Introduce question marks and exclamation marks.  Fiction - story planning, settings, events, order and characters.  Non-fiction - use and layout of texts. Reading/reading comprehension.

 

 

Mathematics:

 

Revising and consolidating numbers to 10, 20 and 100.  Addition/subtraction - consolidating number bonds to 10, numbers to 20, teen numbers, number bonds, adding 10 to 1   digit numbers. Ordering numbers and number names.  Money. Counting in 2s. 2D/3D shapes. Time - digital and analogue: o'clock and half past. Sorting - Venn diagrams.

 

 

RE:

 

Babies, Initiation (learning to belong and to respond) and   Gifts.     

 

Science:         

 

Sources of light/sound.  Uses and misuses of electricity.

 

History        

 

Homes: now and then.  Firework night/Guy Fawkes. Poppy Day.
